- Refrigerant charge levels and air flow
- A check for refrigerant leaks
- Sound electrical connections and working components
- Secure physical connections between parts
- The run capacitor, for bulging or unusual markings
- Cleaning the outdoor condenser coil
- The indoor evaporator coil, with self-rinsing cleaner where possible
- Cleaning the condensate drain
- Cleaning and adjusting the blower
- The air filter, cleaned or replaced as needed
